RTS STAFF
In July 2008, RTS welcomed new Executive Director, Margie Thirlby. Prior to RTS, Margie worked in development at the Fulcrum Foundation in Seattle, assisting with a 40 million dollar capital campaign and coordinating Fulcrum’s fundraising events, including the million dollar “Celebration of Light.” Margie’s other experience includes public relations, journalism, marketing, and consulting.
Margie graduated Magna Cum Laude from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota with a B.A. in English and Media Studies. At St. Olaf, Margie played Intercollegiate Volleyball, studied abroad at the University of Aberdeen in Scotland, and was the Sports Editor for her college newspaper. A Seattle native, Margie loves the outdoors, Seattle sports, writing, and spending time with her family and friends. Margie is thrilled to continue her position at RTS and assist homeowners in need in the Seattle community.
In September 2009, RTS welcomed new Program & Outreach Coordinator, Jason Cummings. Prior to RTS, Jason worked with the Rebuilding Together affiliate in Phoenix, Arizona as the Community Outreach Coordinator. As the Outreach Coordinator, Jason coordinated a one day event with 3,800 volunteers helping 154 homeowners in need. Jason’s other experience includes public speaking, fundraising, and grant writing. Jason holds a B.A. in Resource Recreation & Tourism from University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho.
Jason is excited to join RTS and be a part of the Seattle community. He hopes to expand the programs and outreach efforts at RTS. As a US Veteran himself, Jason will develop the RTS Veterans Program. Jason is glad to be back in the Pacific Northwest where he can enjoy hiking, camping, and tasty, fresh seafood!
On September 16th, Jason received the President’s Volunteer Service Award, an initiative of the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation, in recognition and appreciation of his commitment to making a difference through volunteer service. Congratulations, Jason!
